Anne Bean invited trombonist Alan Tomlinson, drummers Paul Burwell and Steve Noble, singer Mary Genis and artist/pyrotechnician Mark Anderson to take part in an event for the Architectural Association’s 150th Anniversary in Bedford Square Gardens. Alan Tomlinson, as a rising angelic presence, was hoisted off the ground by a crane amidst helium balloons each with a luminous A attached. On the ground drummers Paul Burwell and Steve Noble and singer Mary Genis responded across the space, as Alan rose and then descended back into a semicircle of 150 small cakes each with a lit candle.
